Patrons rave about the dumplings—both fried and steamed—with many noting their incredible flavor when paired with the ginger sauce. Customer 'Dylan C.' even remarked on the delicious quality of the food despite his general indifference towards Chinese cuisine. If you're seeking a spicy adventure, the dishes here don’t hold back, as ‘medium’ spice can deliver quite a kick. Charlie G. humorously advises those with a low tolerance to request 'mild' instead. Don't miss the crispy onion cake served with peanut sauce—a true standout appetizer.

I'm not a fan of Chinese food but Brandy Ho's is awesome. The staff are friendly and the food is very good.

Very good and delicious dumplings. We came here because we are having drinks at Mr. Bing. Dumplings were freaking amazing and good

Delicious. Friendly (sort of). Tables are crowded together - but then you're in San Francisco. If you're going for Gluten Free Asian food, beware. The menu online makes it sound like they can prepare just about anything GF. Truth is, only a very limited number of items are available for customers with gluten allergies. What they have is tasty, but the selection is very limited.

Affordable, delicious, and fun. This is an old school an authentic SF Chinatown Hunan place. I have come a few times. I'd say it is a fun place to come with a group of people and maybe with co-workers for lunch or dinner. It's also a cool place to come and talk with friends and just hang out. They have screens too so you can also watch sports. It's not a hipster placet, but there's something warm there beyond style.

IMPORTANT: Brandy Ho's "medium" is as spicy as some other places' "hot". If you're worried, get it mild. If you're looking to taunt the dragon, this is the place. You may be used to seeing red peppers in your Hunan dishes. Here they use a hot sauce which gives the flavor without the risk of accidentally swallowing a pepper. I've done that. Food quality and service are both very good. Favorites are the Harvest Pork and the Smoked Ham. Don't miss the crispy onion cake appetizer with peanut sauce! If you like seafood, try Brandy's Dinner. The ambiance is casual. They used to have a fancier location on Broadway years ago and another in the Castro, but this the original and now the only location. Good value for the price, and close to all the sights in North Beach and Chinatown. Recommended!

Great service, friendly staff! We came with a group and shared several dishes. Don't miss the fried or steamed dumplings with the ginger sauce - delicious! It was not crowded when we were there, food came out quickly.

My husband has been talking about the hot ham and garlic at Brandy Ho's for 20 years. Finally, 30 years after his first visit, we made it here. We came for lunch and got the lunch special. Service was great. The additions were great and the main fantastic! Thankfully after building the food up for two decades, it did not disappoint. So good!
